The 10th class of the county girls basketball Hall of Fame included not one but two parent-child combinations among the nine inductees. "My family is famous today," Brett Steinman quipped.  BENNINGTON, Vt. — The new owner of Apple Barn and Bake Shop Sarah Albright has fond memories of visiting the shop in the fall with her parents — little did she know at the time one day it would be hers. Former owner Lia Diamond announced on Facebook last April that she was not re-opening the seasonal store. Hundreds of people flocked to the Facebook post expressing their love for the Apple Barn's baked goods, products, and experience that it had provided to them and their families. Owner Jim Schultz presents the project from his living room at the farm LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — Red Shirt Farm will debut a farm store and community commercial kitchen on Route 7 to offer local food choices and opportunities for learning.
The farm recently broke ground on the project and plans to have a soft opening in December.
On Friday, state and local officials gathered at the 10-acre farm for a site visit organized by 1Berkshire. Owner Jim Schultz detailed Red Shirt's organic, regenerative farming practices, low carbon footprint operations, and dedication to food access that led to building a store.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Four candidates have returned papers for two Select Board seats that will will be filled at May's annual town election. Incumbent Andrew Hogeland and newcomers Stephanie Boyd, Andrea Bryant and Paul Harsch each completed papers with the required number of signatures before Tuesday's deadline. The town clerk and board of registrars now have to certify the signatures on the nomination papers. And candidates have until Thursday, April 6, to withdraw their names before they are placed on the ballot. The other three elected offices on the ballot for May have no contested races. Sweetwood hopes to ask town meeting to rezone its property from Rural Residence to the Southern Gateway District, which currently runs along Route 7 with a southern terminus at the intersection with the Taconic Trail (Route 2).
