Clark Art Lecture on Emamzadeh Yahya Project

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 5:30 pm, the Clark Art Institute's Research and Academic Program hosts a talk with Keelan Overton (Independent Scholar / Clark Fellow) on the Emamzadeh Yahya Project.    The talk takes place in the Manton Research Center auditorium.    Established in 2021, the aim of the Emamzadeh Yahya Project is to increase awareness and understanding of the Emamzadeh Yahya shrine complex and its dispersed tiles, collections, and archives worldwide, without pursuing commercial, political, or institutional objectives. McCann Tech Roof, New Monument Mountain High School OK'd by Voters

ADAMS, Mass. — By wide margins, school infrastructure projects were approved by voters at both ends of the county on Tuesday.   In Adams, the question of whether to allow a Proposition 2-1/2 debt exclusion to enable McCann Tech’s roof and window replacement project received a resounding yes by a margin of 553-169.   In South County, the three member towns in the Berkshire Hills Regional School District all approved a $152 million project to build a new Monument Mountain Regional High School, according to the Berkshire Edge.   Up north, Adams was the last town to weigh in on the $16.8 million project at McCann Tech.   It was one of only two communities in

Northern Berkshire Contra Dance

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — North Berkshire Community Dance will hold its monthly contra dance on Saturday, Nov. 8.  Ben Sachs-Hamilton, the caller, will teach every dance, and live fiddle music will be provided by the California-based band, "Raven and Goose".   The dance will run 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the Community Hall of the First Congregational Church, 906 Main St., Williamstown. Admission is pay-as-you-can:  $12 - $20 suggested, and barter is also welcome.    Contra dancing is a living tradition in New England; for hundreds of years, neighbors and friends have made their own social entertainment in this easy and highly collaborative dance form.

Local Girls Lacrosse Teams Excel at Tournament

DEVENS, Mass. — Two girls lacrosse travel teams in the Equinox Lacrosse program turned in strong performances at The Chill, a college recruiting tournament held Oct. 18 and 19.   The Equinox 26/27 team capped off a dominant day by bringing home the championship, battling through a competitive field that featured some of the strongest club teams from across New England. ARLINGTON, Vt. — There's a dog at Second Chance Animal Shelter that is ready to play fetch with her new family.

iBerkshire's Companion Corner is a weekly series spotlighting an animal in our local shelters that is ready to find a home.

Ava is a 4- to 5-year-old Labrador and pitbull mix who has been at the shelter for a couple of months after her owner had to move and couldn't keep her.

Shelter Manager Troy Quinn introduced us to Ava who he says loves to play fetch.

"Playing fetch, 100 percent that is her favorite thing to do. She's very good at it. She's a very obedient girl," he said.
