WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The North Berkshire Contra Dance will hold its monthly community contra dance on Saturday, Oct. 11, with live fiddle music, and all dances taught by caller Quena Crain. Quena Crain, who calls all over New England, provides an easy teaching style. Music will be provided by fiddler Rebecca Weiss with Seamus Connor on guitar and mandolin. Atendees can come alone or with a partner; most people change partners for each dance throughout the evening. New dancers and families with children are encouraged to arrive by 7:30 for instruction in the basics. The activity was in partnership with Wild Oats Market, which provided the materials. The market recently held an ice cream social that raised more than $600 for the center, and it was planning a free Wild Smoke Party on Oct. 18, featuring a barbecue with locally raised pork. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — A new owner has taken over the former Chenail's Farm Stand at 877 Simmonds Road. McKay's Family Farm is located in Stamford, Vt., and raises cattle, sheep, horses, goats and more. They also grow a variety of vegetables, and have expanded into the greenhouses at the shopping plaza near the town line. "We've been in Stanford for 16 years building our production.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Wild Soul River recently changed its hours and added more to its menu. Owners Rebecca Guanzon and Justin Adkins opened the herbal and metaphysical shop in 2021. The shop offers a lot of herbs, herbal teas, and one-on one-sessions for tarot reading and reiki. "At our core, we're a small herbal business, and that's kind of the core of everything we do," Adkins said. "Rebecca is a trained herbalist, and she sees people one on one for herbal consultations.
