Williamstown Planners Review 'Cottage Court' Bylaw

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Planning Board last week took its first look at some proposed zoning bylaw amendments the panel could bring to town meeting as early as May.   Two of the drafts considered are echoes of a spring 2023 proposal to allow manufactured homes on residential lots.   A third is a new proposal to make possible increased housing density in the town's General Residence district.   Kenneth Kuttner and Roger Lawrence have formed a working group to develop the latter proposal, which would allow a development known as "cottage courts" — small single-family homes grouped together on a parcel around a common area and, often, a common

Williams Women's Golf Wins Tourney at Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Euna Lee carded an 80 on Sunday to finish tied for seventh as an individual and lead the Williams College women's golf team to a first-place finish at the George Phinney Classic.   Williams finished one stroke ahead of runner-up Hamilton in the 11-team field.   Williams is home next weekend for the two-day Williams Invitational.   Men's Golf WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Williams placed ninth in a 22-team field at the Williams Invitational.   Babson won the event by 10 strokes over runner-up Trinity. Williamstown Community Preschool Installs New Signage

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Community Preschool began sprucing up its new home by hiring local sign maker Lindsay Neathawk, owner of Neathawk Signs and Design, to create a 3D sign for the business.

Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top. Underneath the name and address "a place to grow" is written. The children's hand prints were taken at the school and Neathawk then scanned them into her design programs to create the sign.
