WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Saturday, Aug. 24, the Williamstown Rotary Club pitched in to help the Williamstown Food Pantry. The Pantry distributes shelf-stable food and home supplies to the community two Wednesdays a month. It is located at the Parish Center of Sts. Patrick and Raphael Catholic Church in Williamstown. This year the Rotary Club provided the Food Pantry with a grant from the Rotary district, and the local Club cleaned up the space, installed a handrail, sorted and rotated the inventory, and bought a new freezer.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The community came together to officially start a construction project, over a decade in the making, that will provide a safer, cleaner future for the town. "As a community, we should be proud to witness the groundbreaking of a new state-of-the-art fire station, ensuring that life and property continue to be protected to the highest and best of abilities."  BOSTON -- Pittsfield resident Pam Malumphy, along with thousands of other walkers, will participate in the Boston Marathon Jimm Fund Walk on Sunday, Oct. 6. The annual event unites the community to raise funds to support all forms of adult and pediatric care and research at the nation’s premier cancer center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Jimmy Fund Walk has raised more than $176 million for Dana-Farber in its 35-year history, raising a record-breaking $9.4 million in 2023.  Leigh Davis will run on the Democratic party line in November to fill the 3rd Berkshire House seat being vacated by William "Smitty" Pignatelli. At just after 10:30 on Tuesday evening, with 97 percent of the votes counted, the Associated Press called the Democratic primary for Davis, a member of the Great Barrington Select Board. She had 56 percent of the votes, well ahead of her nearest challenger, Patrick White, who had 37 percent. Jamie Minacci was running a distant third with 6 percent of the votes that were in. After star-studded 1989 motion picture, a Broadway production in 2005, a TV film remake in 2012 and countless regional productions over the last few decades, the tale of fellowship and heartache in the American South will be told in North County on Friday, Sept. 13, by a group of Mount Greylock Regional School students. For Mount Greylock Regional School senior Rafael Mellow-Bartels, Sunday brought another problem.
