 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.—On Friday, June 2, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art will host its 28th Annual Graduate Symposium at the Clark Art Institute, featuring scholarly presentations by the program's graduating Masters students. The presentations, timed in conjunction with Williams' 2023 Commencement weekend, will address topics in the history of art, from the Caribbean influence on fashion in the age of Josephine and Napoleon to abstraction in American landscapes; and from the history of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board to "Action Plastique" and the work of Moroccan artist Mohamed Melehi. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Conservation Commission last week gave the green light to a long-discussed roundabout for the Five Corners intersection in South Williamstown. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation was before the commission with a notice of intent to undertake a multiyear project to reconfigure the intersection of Routes 7 and 43. Since the work takes place near the north branch of the Green River, the Con Comm has the jurisdiction of ensuring the project will not disturb the resource area. Williamstown Community Preschool Installs New Signage |
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Community Preschool began sprucing up its new home by hiring local sign maker Lindsay Neathawk, owner of Neathawk Signs and Design, to create a 3D sign for the business.
Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top. Underneath the name and address "a place to grow" is written. The children's hand prints were taken at the school and Neathawk then scanned them into her design programs to create the sign.
