 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williams College Museum of Art announced three new curatorial appointments: Christa Clarke, Director of Curatorial Strategy for the new museum project; Dan Byers, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art; and Rachael Nelson, Mellon Curatorial Fellow. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Planning Board on Tuesday discussed ways to reach out to residents who use their homes for short-term rentals as the body prepares to bring a bylaw regulating the practice to May's annual town meeting. Short-term rentals – referred to as Airbnbs in the vernacular — have been a topic of conversation for the board for years. At one point, it was close to finalizing a bylaw proposal a couple of years ago but instead asked the Select Board to take up the project, as any such regulation would not be specific to a given zoning district but applicable to the town as a whole. Veterans Day falls on Monday, Nov. 11, and will be observed as a state and federal holiday. The federal holiday is to commemorate the service of the nation's military veterans in ensuring peace.
It was first known as Armistice Day to mark the end of World War I at the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. HANCOCK, Mass. — Pure maple products made by Massachusetts maple syrup producers were once again proclaimed to be the best in the world, as three of the state's sugarmakers took home prizes from the North American Maple Syrup Council's annual competition, held this year in Portland, Maine.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The community development director on Monday updated the Select Board on progress in executing the recently adopted comprehensive plan. And he told them that one major initiative coming out of the plan got a boost from the commonwealth. "Completion of a land-use policy and regulatory audit is a huge item," Andrew Groff told the board at its twice-monthly meeting. "I can announce that the town received Community One-Stop funding, a $100,000 grant from the commonwealth.
