WCMA Community Forum on New Museum Building Project

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA) invites the community to a forum to learn more about the new museum building project at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.   The forum, which will be held in the Williams Inn Ballroom, will kick off the WCMA building project construction phase, slated to begin this fall. Thankful 5K Expanding in Ninth Year

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Berkshire Running Foundation is eager to kick off the fundraising efforts surrounding the 9th annual MountainOne Thankful 5K to be held on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. at Berkshire Community College.    This year the Thankful 5K expands to include walkers, virtual participants and a new training program for the community.   The annual event is a fundraiser hosted by the Foundation to raise much needed funds for the South Community Food Pantry and the local Fuel Assistance Fund.   The first 500 participants who register for the event receive a Thankful hat, with all the proceeds going to the designated causes. Clark Art, Du Bois Freedom Center Host Poetry Reading

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Sunday, Oct. 6 at 4 pm, the Clark Art Institute hosts poets Iain Haley Pollock and Nathan McClain in the Manton Research Center auditorium for a free poetry reading.   Pollock reads poems from his most recent book, "Ghost, Like a Place," and from a forthcoming collection. McClain, whose poetry has been described as "no-nonsense, meat and potatoes, good gotdam poetry," also reads from his work. The two poets then discuss their stylistic differences and conceptual overlap when it comes to poetry, language, race, and W.E.B. Du Bois's concept of double consciousness. Wiffle Ball Tournament to Benefit Scholarship Fund

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The fifth annual DZ24 Wiffle Ball Tournament is Saturday, Oct. 19, at Deming Park in Pittsfield.   Teams of four will compete against each other based on age.
