Williamstown Community Preservation Committee Sets Deadline for Applications

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Community Preservation Committee expects the town to have up to $300,000 to award to new applicants for Community Preservation Act funding in fiscal year 2024.   Last month, the CPC met at town hall to, among other things, review its financials heading into the FY24 application cycle.   The committee agreed to set a date of Jan. 6 for applications for new CPA grants. Northern Berkshire EMS Receives $665K In Grants

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Northern Berkshire EMS announced three different Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants the service has received over the past few years through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program.   "We have been dealing with COVID, so we have been really isolated and really haven't done any proper announcements on these grants," General Manager John Meaney Jr. said at a small press conference Monday, Dec. 5. SVHC Receives Strong Nurse Satisfaction Survey Results

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Throughout the month of August, the nurses of Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC), participated in the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) RN Survey, which measures nurse job satisfaction.    SVMC's nurses scored SVMC higher than the national average in all categories.    "We have so many nurses and leaders from all areas working together to make SVMC the best place to build a satisfying nursing career, and those efforts are paying off," said Connie A. Williamstown Charter Review Committee Meets with Consultants

Adams Community Bank Receives an Outstanding CRA Rating

Bump in COVID-19 Cases Seen at Two County Nursing Homes

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The operator of six nursing homes in Berkshire County said a recent spike in COVID-19 cases associated with two of those facilities is tied to incidents in the community at large.   And all but four people found positive at a South County facility are fully recovered, according to a spokesperson for Integritus Healthcare.   Integritus, formerly known as Berkshire Healthcare, operates nursing homes in Great Barrington, Lenox, North Adams, Pittsfield and Williamstown.   Two of those sites, Fairview Commons in Great Barrington and Williamstown Commons, saw significant jumps in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among residents in the month of

Williams Men's Soccer Reaches National Title Game

SALEM, Va. -- Nick Boardman scored on a header in the 80th minute to give the Williams College men's soccer team a 1-0 win over Mary Washington on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Final Four.   Boardman converted a cross from Eamon Gara Grady for the game-winner.   Ben Diffley made three saves in Williams' goal.
