WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Images Cinema has announced the 2025 Earth Month Film Festival, focusing on the theme "Animals & Us." The festival will consist of four documentaries and two feature films shown between March 25 and April 22. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mount Greylock Regional School's Friends of the Arts will present a talent and art show on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the school, located at 1781 Cold Spring Road in Williamstown. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Mount Greylock School Committee on Thursday voted unanimously to send its member towns a fiscal year 2026 spending plan that calls for increases of about 7 percent in the assessment to Lanesborough and 8 percent in the assessment to Williamstown. The committee's annual public hearing and vote on a spending plan for the next academic year concludes a process that began in earnest for the panel in December. That is when the School Committee first heard the budget requests from the middle-high school. At its January meeting, it heard the budget priorities for the district's two elementary schools. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — For the second straight year, the owners of the Sweetwood senior living facility have backed off a plan to ask the town's permission to convert some of its units to multifamily housing. On Tuesday, the Planning Board, which had scheduled a public hearing to vet the proposal, learned that the landowner had withdrawn its request to petition May's annual town meeting to create an overlay district for the Cold Spring Road (Route 7) property.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — It took the Prudential Committee less than 14 minutes to unanimously vote to offer the post of fire chief to Onset's Jeffrey Dias. Dias, deputy chief of a department of full-time and volunteer firefighters, was the only nomination to succeed retiring Chief Craig Pedercini. The committee members pointed to Dias' dedication, experience and certifications as informing their decision.
