Pittsfield's Striking Out Cancer Event Back for Third YearCommunity submission, 09:00AM / Monday, May 08, 2023 | | PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Area baseball and softball players ages 13 and up are encouraged to participate in the third annual Striking Out Cancer in the Berkshires Event on Saturday, June 24. The day-long baseball and women's softball games will be played at Clapp Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A $10 donation gets you the opportunity to participate in the event. All proceeds go to the Jimmy Fund at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Participants will receive a T-shirt to commemorate the event. Williamstown police said Jay J. Wright of Hayden Hill Road was traveling east on Main Street (Route 2) at about 4 p.m. when his vehicle veered to the left and crossed the westbound lane near Southworth Street.
