 To the Editor:
I am disappointed that I have to write yet again to address the many faulty conclusions and misleading figures published on your website regarding the Williamstown Youth Center's funding request to the town. To publish one such letter, along with a response, seems to me a reasonable presentation of differing opinions for your readers to sort out. To publish a second does not encourage not public debate about an important issue but simply kickstarts a useless back and forth that can only cause bad feelings and muddy the discussion of a pretty simple request.

 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Community Preservation Committee will meet later this month to consider six requests that, combined, seek more funds than the town will have available under the Community Preservation program in fiscal year 2024. Those six applications add up to $515,000 in funding requests. According to town officials, the CPC will have a total of $370,604 in Community Preservation Act funds to recommend to May's annual town meeting.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — A new concert series at the Clark Art Institute, Concerts at the Conforti, kicks off on Saturday, Jan. 28 with an afternoon performance of new classical music at 3 pm followed by an evening show of electronic music at 7 pm. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On the same night it heard about a challenging budget season ahead, the Mount Greylock Regional School Committee heard requests for as many as eight new full-time positions in the district. The first order of business on the schedule Thursday was a discussion of fiscal year 2024 funding priorities for Williamstown Elementary School and Mount Greylock Regional School. Middle-high school Principal Jacob Schutz gave a presentation from Mount Greylock's School Council that identified five priorities for FY24, including the addition of four positions: a Spanish teacher, visual arts teacher, a 504 coordinator and a behaviorist.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Five years after the Select Board lent its support to a planned medical cannabis facility, the proprietor still is working toward obtaining a license to be a Medical Marijuana Treatment Center in the commonwealth. Silver Therapeutics opened its doors as an adult use recreational cannabis retailer in April 2019 in what then was called the Colonial Plaza shopping center on Main Street.
