WILLIAMSTOWN – On Sunday, September 18th, 2011, “The Sweets” of Williamstown will be hosting its first annual Grandparents’ Day Celebration, an event that is open to the public as well as residents and their families.
The fun filled e vent, which will run from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm between the two campuses, offers something for all generations beginning with a cook-out at 12:00 noon on the deck of the Collier Wright unit at Sweet Brook.
“Grandparents are the backbone of our community, and we’re thrilled that we can provide a wonderful opportunity for families throughout the region to honor their loved ones,” said Sweet Brook Administrator Suzanne Anair. “We encourage the entire community to come out and enjoy the festivities.”
Live entertainment by Dave Malachino will begin at 1:00 pm and Bowey the Clown will delight guests, young and old, with his antics and balloon animals and hats!
Complimentary face painting and family photographs in frame will be available all day!
“This will be another great day at Sweetwood and Sweet Brook to give a nod to all the grandparents out there, who have given so much to their families and community,” said Sweetwood Executive Director John Krol.
The event will conclude on the Sweetwood terrace between 2:00 – 4:00 pm where ice cream treats will be served and games and prizes will keep everyone moving.
