Sweetwood to Host a Free Falls Screening and Information Session
WILLIAMSTOWN – Sweetwood of Williamstown Retirement Living Community will be hosting fall health screenings and information session on falls prevention at 4:00 p.m., Monday, September 26th with licensed specialists from Gentiva Health Services.
Sweetwood is located at 1611 Cold Spring Road (Route 7) in Williamstown.
The screenings and presentation will be provided by Gentiva Director of Rehabilitation Ross Davis, MPT, MBA and Tammy Ferry, RN. A significant percentage of emergency room visits |

Sweetwood to Host Benefit Concert for Spruces' Residents
 | We hope the entire community will come out and support the victims of the flooding at the Spruces caused by tropical storm Irene. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the fund set up to support Spruces' Residents. Thursday, September 8th, 5-8 p.m.
WILLIAMSTOWN – Sweetwood of Williamstown Retirement Living Community will be hosting a concert to benefit those affected by the flooding at the Spruces Mobile Home Park caused by tropical storm Irene.
Thursday, September 8th, the performances begin at 5 p.m., and will include Berkshire County-based band Blueberry Buckle Trio, singer-songwriter Jack Waldheim and others at Sweetwood of Williamstown, 1611 Cold Spring Road. Those attending will be asked for a suggested donation of $10, however, any amount will be accepted for this benefit concert.

First Congregational Church Holding Annual Tag Sale
 | The First Congregational Church located at 906 Main St. will hold its annual tag sale on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9-2.
This fundraiser, which supports programs like Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and Sudan Relief Task Force among other projects, includes a wide variety of goods for the home, office, or dorm room including furniture, small appliances, lamps, linens, tabletop goods, office equipment, kitchen wares and more
"Every year church volunteers spend months collecting, sorting, cleaning, and testing the goods that we sell. We take pride in inspecting everything we sell and only offering items in good working condition," said tag sale co-Chairwoman Jody Green.

You Forgot Florida!
 | Great coverage on the destruction and response of emergency personnel and neighborly acts during and after Hurricane Irene. But....did you forget to check with the Florida Volunteer Fire Dept? These men were out from morning until night rescuing a stranded driver from a mud slide, warning residents of impending flooding, patroling roads and working with the highway department. We had many major washouts and much major road destruction. Residents of Hoosac Tunnel were evacuated early Sunday afternoon due to flooding from the Deerfield. Yet none of this made any of the local papers. How about giving these guys some overdue credit. Thanks............ |
