Ruth Anne Tavelli, 89

April 30, 2013

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Ruth Anne Tavelli, 89, of 47 Pines Lodge Park died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Sweet Brook Care Centersafter a long-term battle with breast cancer.

Born in North Adams on Dec. 6, 1923, daughter of Carl and Effie Packard Sindermann, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Tavelli had worked in younger years as a telephone operator at the former Sprague Electric Co. She also had been a devoted caregiver to several family members and had worked part time in retail.

She was a communicant of the former Incarnation Church and of St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. She enjoyed gardening.

Her husband, Alton R. Tavelli, whom she married on April 1, 1943, died on May 17, 2005.

She leaves two sons, Robert A. Tavelli and his wife, Jane, of Casselberry, Fla., and Richard C. Tavelli of Williamstown; a brother, Dr. Carl J. Sindermann and his wife, Joan, of Easton, Md., and their children Nancy, Jeannie, Jim, Dana, Carl and their families; two granddaughters, Marie Tavelli-Gonzalez and her husband, Dennis, and Michelle Tavelli; a great-granddaughter, Gianna Gonzalez; a niece, Lisa Sindermann, and a nephew, Robert Sindermann and several cousins in the Sindermann and Packard families, including 105 year-old Ethel of Bennington, Vt.

Her brother Robert Sindermann is deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Tavelli will be celebrated Wednesday May 8, at 11 from St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Burial will be private.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Flynn & Dagnol
