WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Kenneth Jerry Morray, 93, of Sweetwood Retirement Community, formerly of Richmond, died Oct. 16, 2013, at North Adams Regional Hospital three days after his birthday.

Born in Oblong, Ill., on Oct. 13, 1920, son of K. Ralph and Halloween Parker Morray, he received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Chicago.

Mr. Morray was employed with General Electric Co. for many years, beginning in the Silicone Products Department. He rose to the position of marketing manager at the Waterford, N.Y., facility, then spent four years in Tokyo as GE's representative in a joint venture with Toshiba Co. He had first worked for US Rubber Co. in the manufacture of synthetic rubber needed for the World War II effort.

He and his wife, the former Maze Gregory, a longtime resident of Berkshire County, retired to Richmond, where he had served on the Planning Board. They moved to Sweetwood 12 years ago. He was an avid gardener and spent many happy days skiing with friends at Jiminy Peak.

His first marriage was to the former Betsy Kuh, with whom he had two sons.

Besides his wife, he leaves his sons, Jeffrey Morray of Phoenix, Ariz., and David Morray of Gloversville, N.Y.; two grandchildren, and a great-grandson, and his wife's three children and six grandchildren.
