WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Robert Rickert, 84, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Williamstown, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, Thanksgiving Day, at Heartland of Marysville, Ohio, nursing center.
Born in Troy, N.Y., on Feb. 28, 1929, he was the son of Robert L. and Dorothy Munson Rickert.
Mr. Rickert was employed as a cook at Williams College. His first job was at Wood House and he later became head chef at Baxter Hall. He retired to Columbus to live with his daughter, Holly Draughn.
His wife, the former Eleanor Van Horn, died Sept. 19, 1998.
Besides his daughter and her husband, Scot Draughn, he leaves a son, Mark Rickert of Adams; two brothers, Gerald Rickert and his wife, Lois, and Douglas Rickert, all of Williamstown; his four granddaughters, Marissa, Kirstin, Erica and Michelle; a stepgranddaughter, Emma, and former son-in-law, Chris Angellatta.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mr. Rickert will take place Friday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. at Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown. Burial will follow with military honors in Eastlawn Cemetery. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
