WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Michael G. Norman, 64, of 28 Charles St. died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at his home.
Born in North Adams on May 19, 1949, a son of Arthur W. and Irene Rivie Norman, he attended schools in North Adams.
A decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the Navy.
Mr. Norman was employed as a auto mechanic at B & L Gulf Service Station in Williamstown and later at Braytonville Garage in North Adams.
He was a member of the VFW Post 8304 and enjoyed fishing.
He and his wife, the former Gloria Gaskins, were married April 20, 1974.
Besides his wife of 39 years, he leaves a daughter, Tina Norman, and a grandson, Keegan Gardner, both of Bennington, Vt.
He was predeceased by his son, Marine Lance Cpl. Robert H. Norman on Feb. 23, 1996; two brothers, David Norman and Arthur Norman Jr., and a sister, Kathleen Farren.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Norman will take place Friday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. at Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown. Burial will take place in the spring with full military honors. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
