NEW ASHFORD, Mass. — Nancy Clark, 90, of Route 7, formerly of Williamstown, died peacefully at home on Friday, June 13, 2014, surrounded by family.
Born in North Adams, daughter of James and Mary Thomson Neville, she grew up on Eagle Street there and graduated from Drury High School in 1941.
Mrs. Clark was employed by the Williams College Library, where she worked for 24 years before retiring from the Serials Department in 1992. She first worked at the former Arnold Printworks in North Adams, in the only computer department in the city, for a year, and then at the former Brightwater Paper Co. in Adams.
She loved to bike and especially ski, having served on the ski patrol at the former Dutch Hill in Heartwellville, Vt. She was an avid quilter, gardener and traveler. Throughout her life, she was deeply committed to her family despite the great distances — even oceans — that separated them.
She was known for her candor, strength, sensibility and incredible Thanksgiving stuffing, said family.
Her husband, Allan Harry Clark, whom she married June 24, 1950, died in 2004.
She leaves two daughters Cynthia Grosso of New Ashford and Kathi ClarkOrsanic of Melbourne, Australia; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers James Thomson Neville and Gordon Bruce Neville.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mrs. Clark will be held on Tuesday, June 17, at 1 p.m. at First Congregational Church in North Adams.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Clark has requested donations to the Women's Fellowship at First Congregational Church in North Adams. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
