WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Patricia Thomason, 81, of Lindley Terrace died on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 22, 1933, a daughter of Thomas P. Brady and Constance Williston Brady Petri, she was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Francis Petri. She graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School in North Adams.
Mrs. Thomason was employed as a child-care worker in Williamstown and North Adams.
She spent much of her time volunteering with hospice as well as with the book program at Sweet Brook nursing home, earning her the Volunteer of the Year Award in 1982. She started an outreach program for shut-ins and the disabled through the Williamstown and North Adams libraries. She was also a licensed antique dealer and loved animals. Her greatest joy was being a devoted mother and grandmother.
Her husband, John C. Thomason, whom she married in 1949, died Dec. 21, 2007.
She leaves two sons, Robert Lee Thomason of Williamstown and John Patrick Thomason of Las Vegas; two daughters, Pamella Santarcangelo of Bennington, Vt., and Arlene White of the state of Florida; two brothers, John M. Petri and James P. Petri; two sisters, Nan Vareski and Dianne Petri; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Private funeral and graveside services were held for Mrs. Thomason; there were no calling hours. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, was in charge of arrangements.
The family would like to thank the staff at BMC and Dr. Steve Cherry of Williamstown Medical, and give a special thank you to Dr. Robert Van Uitert, for their care and support.
