Ruth T. Brewer, 82

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Ruth Theresa Brewer, 82, of Luce Road died on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 5, 1932, a daughter of Ernest Nelson and Mildred Elizabeth Dudley Boyer, she attended schools in North Adams, including the former Notre Dame Parochial School, graduating from Drury High School with the class of 1951.
Mrs. Brewer was employed as a library assistant in the Williamstown Public School System for 36 1/2 years. She had first worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams in the payroll and accounting department.
She was a member of the Massachusetts and National teachers associations. She was a communicant of of the Parish of Sts. Patrick & Raphael. In her early years, she enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, bowling and square dancing. She also cherished dining out, spending time with her friends, cousins, and sister-in-law, Pat Brewer. She was happiest when spending time with her sons and their wives and her seven grandchildren who were very special to her. She especially enjoyed taking family trips and attending her grandchildren's special events, which made her so proud to be a part of.
Her husband, Joseph Lee Brewer, whom she married in the former Notre Dame Church in North Adams on Feb. 9, 1952, died Dec. 5, 1991.
She leaves two sons, Steven L. Brewer and his wife, Suzanne, of Saranac Lake, N.Y., and Kevin J. Brewer and his wife, June, of Rowley; seven grandchildren, Heather Brewer and her husband, Matthew Glaude, Jason Brewer and his fiancée, Samantha, Kaitlyn Brewer, Amanda Brewer, Danielle Brewer, John Brewer and Michael Brewer; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and her two sisters-in-law, Patricia Brewer and Dorothy Brewer.
She was predeceased by her brother, Nelson Ernest Boyer, in infancy.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Brewer will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, at St. Patrick's Church at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Friday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Donations in her memory may be made to the Parish of Sts. Patrick & Raphael in Williamstown.
