WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Marion Rita Duncan, 91, of 118 Church St. died on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on June 22, 1923, a daughter of Arthur and Marion Harrington McCarthy, she attended Williamstown Public Schools and graduated from the former Williamstown High School, class of 1941.
Mrs. Duncan was employed in the business office at Williams College until 1979. She had earlier worked for 10 years in the payroll and accounting department for the town of Williamstown until 1972, and for the former Cornish Wire.
Her husband, George Duncan, whom she married in 1948, died in 1999.
She leaves two daughters, Ellen Rougeau and her husband, Gary, and Robin Hamling and her husband, Dan, all of Williamstown; a son, Scott Duncan, and his wife, Heidi, of North Adams; a brother, Robert McCarthy and his wife, Elaine, of North Adams; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Walter, Carl, James and Gerald McCarthy and sisters, Ellen McCarthy, Ruth McCarthy and Florence Scaia.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Private graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Duncan will celebrated at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Harper Center or the VNA & Hospice of the Berkshires through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams.
