Victor J.T. Girardi, 88

December 20, 2015

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Victor John Thomas Girardi, 88, of Mount Williams Drive, died on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015.

Born in North Adams on Nov. 22, 1927, son of John and Catherine Leonesio Girardi, he graduated from Drury High School.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Girardi was employed by James Hunter Machine Co. as a welder and foreman from 1945 until his retirement in 1989.

He loved sports and played softball, golf and bowled. He was known for his kindness and fairness, and his love of animals, especially his cats. He was well known around town for his "Snap of the Finger" poem and "Dime-in-Pins" that he would give to everyone he met. He was friendly to all and knew no strangers.

His wife, the former Constance Seasons, whom he married in 1986, died in 2012.

He leaves two daughters, Nancy Abramson and Patricia Beaudreau; four stepchildren, Michael Beaudreau, Thomas Beaudreau, Raymond Beaudreau and Cheryl Steuer; his dear family members, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, including Johnny Leonesio, to whom the family will be eternally grateful,

He was predeceased a sister, Angelina Morandi; two brothers, Valentino Girardi and William "Shep" Girardi, and his stepdaughter Beverly Beaudreau.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mr. Girardi will be private. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
