WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — John Leonard Rizzo, 73, of Williamstown died on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Sweet Brook Care Centers, surrounded by his family.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 12, 1942, a son of Dominic and Josephine Costa Rizzo, he attended schools in Brooklyn, graduating from Boys High School.
Mr. Rizzo was an electrician and later a truck driver.
Music was his true passion, and he was a devoted musician. He taught himself guitar at a young age and later became a professional bass player working in some of most renowned clubs in New York City. He attended St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown.
He was predeceased by his former wife, Barbara Cable Rizzo.
He leaves his stepson, Peter Prieto, and son, Michael Rizzo, both of North Adams; a daughter, Nicole Rizzo Carter of Williamstown, and his two sisters Linda D'Amato and Susan Surdo.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A funeral to celebrate the life of Mr. Rizzo will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown.
