WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Veleda V. Boucher, 76, formerly of 549 State Road, North Adams, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Mooers, N.Y., on Sept. 2, 1939, a daughter of Frederick and Eva Brassard Trombley. She came to North Adams as a child with her family and attended North Adams schools. Mrs. Boucher last worked as a manager at the former Goodies candy store in North Adams, until retiring in 1990. Earlier, she had worked at the former Adams Super Market and A&P Supermarket in North Adams. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mercy Church, North Adams. She was also a singer and a guitarist in an all-female band in Zephyrhills, Fla., where she and her husband spent the winters for most of their retirement. Her husband, Joseph A. Boucher, whom she married on Nov. 15, 1958, died on June 25, 2004. She is survived by four sons, Alan Boucher and Maureen of Adams, and David Boucher and Teresa, Gary Boucher and Paula, and Craig Boucher and Donna, all of North Adams; two sisters, Theresa Maino and her husband, David, and Gloria DiGrigoli and her husband, Carmello, all of Florida; 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Trombley. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2, at 10:30 a.m. from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472. Paciorek Funeral Home in Adams is in charge of the arrangements.
