WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Kathryn Mary (Banas) Roy, 69, of North Hoosac Road died on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at her home.
She was born on March 21, 1947, in North Adams, a daughter of the late Theodore & Phoebe Emma (Fowler) Banas.
Kathryn attended Williamstown schools and graduated from Mt. Greylock Regional High School and McCann Nursing School with a nursing degree in 1979. She was a licensed practical nurse in the area for many years, working at North Adams Regional Hospital and also at Sweetbrook Nursing Home. She also worked as a nurse in the Head Trauma Unit at Florida Hospital in Orlando.
She leaves a daughter, Wendy McCarthy, and her husband Robert of Williamstown; a son, Christopher M. Roy, with whom she made her home; grandchildren Cory Roy, Jessica McCarthy and Ashley McCarthy; great-grandchildren including Addison Mae Gazzaille and Connor James McGlodrick; and her sisters, Judy Koloc and her husband Richard of North Adams and Sandy Oakes and her husband George of North Adams.
She was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Roy.
