Donna Lee Smith, 60

October 25, 2001

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Donna Lee Smith, 60, of 47 Pines Lodge Park, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at North Adams Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Bennington, Vt., on Jan. 22, 1941, daughter of Fred and Myrtle Matteson Towslee, she moved to Williamstown as a teenager and attended the former Williamstown High School.

Mrs. Smith was employed as business manager of the family business, Robert E. Smith Trucking Co., which serves Berkshire County and southern Vermont.

A member of Second Congregational Church, she enjoyed gardening and traveling to Florida.

She and her husband, Robert E. Smith, were married Jan. 24, 1959, in Richmond, N.H.

Besides her husband of 42 years, she leaves a daughter, Cathy Morse of Whitingham, Vt.; three sons, Jeffrey Smith of Irasburg, Vt., Scott Smith of Stamford, Vt., and James Smith of Pownal, Vt.; a sister, Frances Streeter of Westminster, Vt.; two brothers, Fred Towslee of Bennington and William Towslee of New York; and 11 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Pratt.

FUNERAL NOTICE —Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Smith will take place Saturday at 11 at Second Congregational Church in South Williamstown, with the Rev. Penny Rich Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Hancock Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for Second Congregational Church through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
