WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Edgar Thomas "Skeeter" Lewis, 55, of Williamstown passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Massachusetts General Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in North Adams on November 6, 1963, the son of the late Graham "Mike" Lewis and Mildred (Thomas) Lewis. He graduated from Mt. Greylock High School with the class of 1981. Ed was a stone mason by trade and employed at the Buildings and Grounds Department at Williams College, where he had worked for the past 20 years.
Survivors include his wife Gwen (Palmer) Lewis, whom he married August 17, 1996; two loving daughters, Melissa Poirot and her husband Robert and Andrea Lewis; four grandchildren, Gavin, Sierra, Octavia and Jaxon; three sisters, Elizabeth Knapp, Debra Denamen and Edith Hall; two brothers, Charles Hall and Chester Lewis; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was predeceased by a brother David Hall, who died in 1994.
Ed had dedicated his time to be the assistant boy's varsity basketball coach for Mount Greylock, and had a deep love and devotion for all his players. He also enjoyed ice fishing, attending local sporting events and singing campfire songs with his family and friends.
Funeral notice: Funeral services will take place Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, Mass., followed by a celebration of his life at the American Legion located in North Adams, Mass.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested in his memory to the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals.
