WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Rachel Elizabeth (Benoit) Dupre, 79, of Williamstown died Sunday, December 30, 2018, at her home.



She was born in North Adams on February 21, 1939, a daughter of the late Leo Benoit and Elizabeth Sybil (Gifford) Benoit Alderman. She attended schools in North Adams. She was employed at various restaurants and motels in the area.



Rachel was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting.



Her former husband, Richard Edward Dupre, died January 18, 1999.



Survivors include her two loving daughters, Betty Girard of North Adams and Dollie Biagini and her husband Mark of Cheshire; as well as 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.



She was predeceased by two daughters, Sally Amos, who died in 1994, and April LaVigne, who died in 2012; grandson Donald V. Girard Jr., who died in 1978; granddaughter Jennifer M. Sebastino, who died in 2014; and two brothers and a sister, Leo Benoit Jr., Orville Benoit and Sylvia Anderson.
