WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Elizabeth Anne "Betsy" Clermont Rancourt, RN, 74, of Williamstown, died unexpectedly Friday, June 14, 2019, at Berkshire Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
Born in Augusta, Ga., on June 16, 1944, a daughter of Gertrude Strange Bazinet, she graduated from Drury High School in North Adams and completed her nurse's training at Berkshire Community College. Betsy worked as a registered nurse at Williamstown Commons and, before that, worked at Sweet Brook and Sweetwood.
She enjoyed fishing, singing and collecting M&M memorabilia. Betsy was a gentle soul, who loved deeply. She was funny, caring, well-liked and the life of the party.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and John Crosier of Brooksville, Fla., and Lanesborough, and her son, William Rancourt. She also leaves several grandchildren; one sister, Cynthia Clermont, of North Adams; one brother, Daniel Clermont, of Melbourne, Fla.; nieces and nephews; her beloved grand-dog, Mollie Crosier, and a dear friend, Rena Manns of Tennessee.
She was predeceased by her mother on March 10, 2019, and two sisters, Dianne Tetreault and Barbara Doan.
