Charlotte Gillooly, 83

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Charlotte Mae Rooney Gillooly, 83, of 764 North Hoosac Road died Sunday morning, Jan. 21, 2001, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 18, 1917, daughter of Russell E. and Della May Daniels Atwood, she attended Drury High School and also trained as a dental hygienist.
She was employed by the former Williamstown National Bank for 16 1/2 years, retiring as head teller in 1979. Before that, she was a dental hygienist for six years for the late Dr. Chester Budz.
Mrs. Gillooly was a member of Blackinton Union Church in North Adams and of its Women's Guild, and a member of the Friendship Club. She enjoyed sewing and playing bingo.
Her first husband, O. Bernard Rooney, whom she married Nov. 4, 1940, died Oct. 17, 1969.
She and her husband, William T. Gillooly, would have celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary April 15.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Michael F. Rooney of Laredo, Texas; a daughter, Barbara Paquette of Westfield; two stepsons, Thomas E. Gillooly of Windsor and William A. Gillooly of Sheffield; a brother, Donald J. Atwood of Rowe; three sisters, Jean Waterman of Williamstown, Madeline Dougherty of North Adams and Irene Wojeick of Adams; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Gillooly will be conducted Thursday at 1 at Blackinton Union Church by the Rev. William R. Kelton, pastor. Burial will be in the spring in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.
Calling hours at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams, will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
