Wilma I. Moulen, 93

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mrs. Wilma Irene (Jones) Poirot Moulen, 93, of Williamstown died Tuesday afternoon, August 18, 2020, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.



She was born in Rutland, Vt., on June 23, 1927, the sixth child of Edwin M. and Anna M. (Kenville) Jones. She attended Rutland schools, graduating from Rutland High School with the Class of 1945. She moved to Williamstown in 1945 to work at the Williams Inn. At this time, she met Stephen L. Poirot, and they were married on Dec. 1, 1945. Mr. Poirot died on May 4, 1960. She married her second husband, Raymond L. Moulen, on November 2, 1961. He died on Aug. 26, 1982.



Wilma had worked at the Williams Inn, The Gavaert Co. of America, Cornish Wire Co., and Williamstown National Bank. She last worked for the George M. Hopkins Co. in Williamstown for 30 years, until retiring in 2005.



She weas a member of the White Oaks Congregational Church, where she was a charter member of the Mary Martha Society. She served as a deacon for many years and was its treasurer for 13 years.



She was a member and past matron of Mountain Chapter # 137 of the Order of the Eastern Star for 58 years, and served as its treasurer for 38 years until the chapter gave up its charter in 2010. She later affiliated with Naomi Chapter # 17 O.E.S., North Adams, in 2010.



She is survived by her son, Curtis A. Poirot of Williamstown; two grandson, Ethan A. Poirot of Conover, N.C., and Justin M. Poirot of Gainesville, Fla.; a stepson, Alfred Moulen and his wife, Victoria, of Cheshire; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and extended family in Drury, Mass., and Steep Falls, Mont.



She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers; and her stepdaughter, Lois Courtney, and her husband, John D. Courtney, Jr.



Funeral notice: A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 1 p.m. in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Rev. William D. Furey of the Berkshire Union Chapel will officiate. Due to current public health regulations, use of face masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced.

Dear Curt and Family,
I am sorry to hear of Wilma's passing. She certainly lived a long and devoted life. I remember her friendship with Bruce's parents Dot and Ralph Martel. Lots of good memories. May she RIP and keep you memories close to heart.
