Richard Hooker

Richard A. Hooker, 40, of Fish Hatchery Road, Cambridge, N.Y., died Tuesday in Salem, N.Y. He was currently employed as a chef at the Main Street Cafe in Williamstown.
Born in Lebanon, N.H., on Jan. 18, 1961, son of Viola Bragg Hooker of Plainfield, N.H., and the late Kenneth Hooker, he graduated from Lebanon High School.
He enjoyed cooking and worked in various positions in the restaurant industry. He also had cooked for Main Street Cafe when it was located in North Bennington, Vt.
Besides his mother, he leaves his wife, the former Ruth Meyer, whom he married in 1983; a son, Roger K. Hooker of Cambridge; four brothers, Ken Hooker, Kevin Hooker, Tim Hooker and Tom Hooker, all of New Hampshire, and two sisters, Cindi Passner and Carol Kennedy, both of New Hampshire.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, Jan. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at ACKLEY & ROSS FUNERAL HOME, 73 Main St., Cambridge, N.Y. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Cambridge United Presbyterian Church, 81 East Main St., Cambridge. Burial will be in the spring at Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge. The family requests memorial donations be made to either Boy Scout Troop No. 61 in care of Thane Rea, 252 Reafield Road, Cambridge, NY 12816, or the Arthritis Foundation, 1330 Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30309.
