WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Arlene Judge Armata passed from this world on June 10, 2021. She was 82 years young.

Arlene was born in NYC, the third and youngest child of James and Fredrica Judge. She is the beloved sister of William and Marianne Judge and Therese Taft, of Williamstown, MA, the much loved mother of three daughters, Kathryn Armata (David Gingrich), Barbara Armata (Eric Christiano), and Donna Armata

Sanford, and cherished Grammie to her granddaughter Skylar Sanford.

Arlene's first years were spent in NYC and her family spent the summers in Williamstown. She was fond of saying that she and her siblings were the original “fresh air kids" – city kids spending time in the country. Arlene's family moved permanently to Williamstown when she was 10 years old, and she grew up surrounded by her large extended family. 

She was a beautiful and talented young woman and competed in local pageants. Her daughters have fond memories of playing with her Queen of the Mohawk Trail headdress as children and teasing her for being runner up in the Miss Northern Berkshire

Pageant. 

Arlene made friends wherever she went and remained in contact with many of her Williamstown High School classmates. Some remained her best of friends. After High School, Arlene returned to NYC to attend the Katherine Gibbs School. 

Over the years she dabbled in other career interests but always returned to her training as an Executive Assistant, making an executive's day run more smoothly at companies such as Sprague Electric, Talbot's, the Massachusetts Governors office, and Weber Shandwick. Arlene had a fierce sense of duty and took her responsibilities very seriously. 

Her last role was as Administrator at Christ Episcopal Church in Castle Rock, CO where she and her dogs, Missy and then Quincy, were well known and loved.

Arlene lived life to the fullest. She loved a good party and was known for her Christmas Eve open house where everyone and anyone was welcome. She loved to sing and entertain and enjoyed time with her golfing friends, wine club, book club, Daughters of the King, and Velvet Hills Chorus. She was also on the board of her HOA. Arlene loved to travel and experience new places. 

While married, she had many adventures around the world and she continued to explore on her own, traveling with friends and family and to Velvet Hills competitions at every opportunity.

After living most of her life in New England, Arlene moved to Colorado to be a part of her granddaughter's life. She was indeed a huge influence and adopted many of Skylar's friends who were not as fortunate to have their Grammie's nearby. She never missed a Grandparent's Day at school, a performance or an athletic event (with the only exceptions being the very cold ones) and loved every minute of them.

Arlene selflessly donated her body to medical research, knowing that the research will aid in finding causes and cures, and will help others who have similar issues. She was stronger than she realized and more loved by so very many than she ever knew.

Arlene is remembered lovingly not only by her daughters, granddaughter, and her siblings, but by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Castle Rock, CO on July 14, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. MT and at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown, MA on July 25, 2021, at 10:30 A.M. ET. A burial of her ashes will take place when her remains are returned to her family.
