Diane Scott Upton

Diane Scott Upton, 57, of 75 Nutmeg Lane died Sunday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Holyoke on Aug. 29, 1944, daughter of the late Richard and Clara Stalker Scott, she attended schools there and graduated from Holyoke High School. She also graduated from Northampton Commercial College and West Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in English.
Mrs. Upton was employed at the Soldier's Home in Holyoke for many years and later at Hillcrest Hospital. She was most recently employed by Peg's Taxi Service in North Adams.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of North Adams and the Greylock Archery Club. She enjoyed reading and cross-stitching.
She was the wife of George Johnston Upton, whom she married Jan. 15, 1975. He died Oct. 6, 1996.
She leaves a son, Scott Baker of California; a daughter, Janet Upton of North Adams, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Thursday night at 7 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with the Rev. Susan Stewart, pastor of First United Methodist Church of North Adams, officiating. Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Heart Association through the funeral home.
