Douglas Paul Peltier, 70 of Pittsfield, MA passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021. He was a longtime resident of Williamstown, MA. He was born in North Adams, MA on September 17, 1950 to George Peltier and Gloria Underwood Peltier. He was raised in Williamstown, MA and was a 1971 graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Williamstown.
Doug began a 45 year career working in Williamstown restaurants, beginning as an assistant chef at the former LeCountry Restaurant from 1964 to 1993. He then joined Taconic Golf Course working in their kitchen, as well as the Faculty Club of Williams College. He was an excellent fisherman and often gave lessons through the Williams College Outing Club. He loved to ride his bike as he headed to the waters to fish. He also loved to bowl.
Doug is survived by his loving son, Douglas P. Peltier, Jr. of Pownal, VT, and his granddaughter Stephanie Peltier. He also leaves three brothers, Christopher Peltier of Amherst; George Peltier of North Adams; and Albert Peltier of Malibu CA ; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Ann Frenier and his brothers James Peltier and twin brother Dennis.
