Gertrude "Trudy" Churchill, 80

September 02, 2022

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —  Gertrude (Trudy) Elaine Churchill (née Glasby), 80, of Williamstown, MA, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 surrounded by her three children: Alissa Churchill of New York, NY, Anne Corbosiero of Simsbury, CT, and Charles Churchill of Williamstown, MA. In addition to her children, she is survived by a brother: Dwight (Bud) Glasby of Woodbridge, VA; a sister: Kathleen Hall of Warrensburg, NY; two sisters-in-law: Joanne Sylvester and Susan Bernardy, both of Williamstown; two sons-in-law: Thomas Carley and Michael Corbosiero; a daughter-in-law: Tammy Churchill; six grandchildren: Ian and David Carley, Christopher and Allison Corbosiero, and James and Henry Churchill; as well as extended family including many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.



Trudy was born on March 24, 1942 in Gouverneur, New York as the fourth child of thirteen children of Walter and Almira Glasby. Trudy attended high school in Schenectady, NY and was employed for many years as a waitress, and then as the manager for checking accounts at the former Williamstown Savings Bank. She married John W. Churchill on October 27, 1962. They were married for 56 years, until his passing on December 23, 2018.



FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Trudy Churchill will be on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, West Chapel, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, MA 01247. Private burial will follow in the family plot in Doane Cemetery in Hawley, MA.
