Laura Odell, 91

Laura Odell, 91, lifelong resident of Williamstown died peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Williamstown Commons.



Laura was born in Williamstown on October 20, 1931 a daughter of the late Loren George Odell and Christina (Stevenson) Odell. She attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from the former Williamstown High School with the class of 1949. She was employed for over 40 years at the Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams retiring in 1992.



Laura was a lifelong member of the Williamstown First Baptist Church where she started going to church at the age of four. She was chief counter and bookkeeper for many years. She also received several awards for her work with the Christian Education Program. She also volunteered for Elder Services and at the Harper Center in Williamstown and was a member of the Friendship Club. She also was a member of Mt. Williams Lodge of Odd Ladies.



Laura viewed family as the most important and her greatest accomplishment was bringing up everyone else's kids.



Survivors include her sister Mary Burzimati, niece Nancy Pontier, nephews Lorenzo Burzimati, Frank Burzimati, grandnieces and grandnephews, Aaron Goodell, Amy Perras, Tammy Goodell, Jeff Goodell and Angela Cote. She also leaves several great grandnieces and nephews and her caregivers Nancy Pontier, Angela Cote, Larry Morris and Chris Bourdon. She was predeceased by her sisters Margaret Odell, Emma Odell, nephews Richard Goodell, Francis Goodell, niece Linda Goodell and grandnephews, Charles Goodell and Robert Goodell.



Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home followed by burial in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, Memorial donations are suggested for the Williamstown Baptist Church through the funeral home. I am so sorry to hear of Laura's passing, she was a lovely lady. I met her a long time ago at the First Baptist Church of Williamstown.
