WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —  Born March 24, 1945 Dan Willie Piner, 78 of Williamstown died on September 29, 2023. Born in Tallassee Alabama a son of Willie & Ida (Bell) Piner.

He attended school at Washington Public School for grade school and then attended Tuskegee Institute High School where he graduated in May of 1963. He attended Mount Zion Baptist Church in Tuskegee at an early age and was baptized at an early age.

Dan worked as a butcher for a number of years until he started at Darrow School in New Lebanon from 1968 – 2014 where he retired as head chef. Dan met his beautiful wife Gloria in Pittsfield, MA and they fell in love .They were married on November 23, 1973 in the First Baptist Church, she died in 2015.

Dan leaves his 5 stepchildren, Ronald Kelly, Robert Kelly, Richard Kelly, Elona Kelly and Jacalyn Kelly. He was predeceased by step daughter, Yvonne Kelly. He also leaves three brothers, five sisters, one stepsister, a grandson Michael Kelly, great-granddaughter Kaitlynn Varcoe and many nieces and nephews that will all miss him dearly.
