Anthony Loholdt

Anthony P. Loholdt, 64, of 15 Elliott Drive died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Easton, Pa., on June 29, 1937, son of the late Charles J. and Nagle Unnan Loholdt, he attended schools there until moving to North Adams, where he also attended schools. He graduated from Drury High School.

He joined the Army on Jan. 10, 1958, and served with the military police, including time in Italy, until Jan. 9, 1961. He then transferred to the XIII Army Corps Massachusetts Sector until his honorable discharge on Jan. 9, 1964.

After his honorable discharge, he returned to North Adams and was employed as a salesman with the Millbrook Bakeries and later with the Nissen Bread Co. and Drake's Bakeries. He later was employed in security at the Berkshire Mall in Lanesboro. He was most recently employed in security at the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown.

He was a communicant of St. Patrick and Raphael Parish.

He leaves his wife of 18 years, the former Elizabeth A. DiLego, whom he married July 16, 1983, in St. Raphael Church; a sister, Marion Marin of North Adams, and three brothers, Joseph Loholdt and Charles Loholdt, both of North Adams, and George Loholdt of Williamstown. Mr. Loholdt was predeceased by two brothers, Leo Loholdt in 1993, and Harold Loholdt in 2000.

Funeral services will take place Friday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, Cole Avenue, Williamstown, with the Rev. William Cyr, pastor, officiating. Burial in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, Feb. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for any charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
