Betty Lou (Flanders) Orell, of Williamstown, MA. died Saturday February 17, 2024 at Williamstown Commons. She was born in North Adams on November 7, 1940 a daughter of Harold and Margaret Ann (Blake) Flanders.
Betty attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. She was self employed as a house cleaner for several families in the area; she also served with her late husband Paul as the supervisor for the Williamstown Elementary School playground and as a crossing guard. She was last employed at Mass MoCA.
She was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in North Adams.
Her husband of 65 years Paul Noel Orell died December 16, 2023. Survivors include her loving children, Richard Orell and his wife Doris of North Adams; Deborah Cooper and her husband Joe of Clarksburg; and grandchildren Misty Cooper, Kathy Boucher and her husband Curtis, Aiden Cooper; great grandchildren, Elliana Boucher, Ayla Boucher and Jack Cooper Chesbro. She was predeceased by sisters and brothers Idella Flanders, Edith Flanders, Sylvia Orell, Evelyn Marshall, Margaret Farmakidis, Richard Flanders and James Flanders.
