William R. Cote, 83

William Rene Cote, 83 of Williamstown died on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at his home. He was born in North Adams on June 24, 1940 a son of the late Rolland & Gladys (Whipple) Cote-Elias and stepfather, Bruno Elias.
William attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. He worked for North Adams Transcript and then at Quality Printing in Pittsfield, as well as a school crossing guard where the student’s enjoyed his company.
William enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He married his wife, Rosella (Tatro) Cote on October 28, 1961. Besides his wife, he leaves his sons, William (Leslie) Cote of Clarksburg, Ronald (Beth) Cote of Pownal, VT , Jerald (Cynthia) Cote of Williamstown, MA. He also leaves his grandchildren, William Cote, Ryan Cote, Ashley (Walter) Upton and Matthew (Olivia) Cote as well as eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters, Patricia Chapman (Bruce), Barbara Szaban, Betty Ann Lesnick (Tom) and brother, John Elias (Diane) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ray Cote and his wife Doris, and in laws, Ronald Szaban, Donald & Joyce Tatro, Walter & Helen Tatro, Gerald Tatro, Peter Tatro, Edna & Jack Cooper, Rena & Bob DeMarsico and father and mother in law Walter and Viola Tatro. The family would like to extend a special thank you to HospiceCare in the Berkshires for everything they did.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service to celebrate the life of William Cote will be on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Southview Cemetery. We are so saddened by the passing of our sweet Bill. As the head of the family he always showed care and concern for not only his immediate family but also for all his brothers and sisters over the years. He was always so kind and caring and we will all miss his ever ready smile. Rosella was his angel that was always there until the end. We will all miss you. Rest now in peace.
