Susan Patricia Healy, 72

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. Susan Patricia (Roe) Healy (72), of East Hampton, Conn.,  passed away on December 16, 2023.



She was born in Providence, RI on July 10, 1951, the first of five daughters to George Albert Roe, and Inez Marie, (Walters) Roe. 



Susan attended schools in Cumberland, RI, until her family relocated to Williamstown, MA in 1968.



She graduated from Mount Greylock Regional High School in 1969, received her BA from the College of Our Lady of the Elms in 1973 and her Master's in Library Science from Simmons College. Susan worked at the Williamstown Public Library, and then at Russell Library in Middletown, Conn.



She married Henry Healy on September 10, 1982.  They lived in East Hampton, Conn. with their beloved daughter Samantha.



Susan was devoted to her family, especially to her pal and best friend, Samantha. Susan was an enthusiastic sports fan; the UConn Huskies were her favorite! The Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Celtics were not far behind. She loved going to the race track with her parents, especially Saratoga. Susan was an avid traveler and went on a trip to Ireland with her family including her then 84 year old father George. She loved going to the beach and dipping her toes in the sand while listening to the waves, a family favorite was at Hawk's Nest Beach in Old Lyme, Conn. Most of all, Susan loved reading, mostly mysteries (murders). She loved trading books at the Book Barn in Niantic Conn., to try to locate the best books she could read next.



Besides her husband Henry, Susan leaves her daughter Samantha Roe Healy, her sisters, Patricia Miranda, (Michael), Barbara Roe Villanueva & Alison Roe O'Grady, (Brian) Susan is also survived by nephews Alex and Simon Arizpe, Nathaniel Miranda (Hope) and nieces Elizabeth O'Grady (Ken Kunes)  and Meghan Pinsonnault, ( Travis) . Susan also leaves great grand- nephews Zachariah and Theodore Miranda,  great grand- niece, Vivian Pinsonnault, her sister in law Patricia (Healy) Arizpe (Jose) and  mother in law Jean Healy. Susan is predeceased by her sister  Nancy Roe Beverly, father in law, Henry Healy Sr., and her parents George and Inez Roe.



A celebration of Susan Roe Healy's life,  will be held  on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 11:00 am, at St Patrick's and St Raphael's Church, Williamstown, MA, with interment at Westlawn Cemetery Williamstown. following.



In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in Susan's memory to go to: The Inez Roe book fund, Milne Public Library, 1095 Main Street, Williamstown,  01267, or the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Pl, Brookline, MA 02445.

I remember Susan when she was a cocktail waitress at Roger's Roost. Our band was there frequently and she was always very kind to us. I am sorry about her passing, my condolences.

I remember Susan as a fun classmate at Mt. Greylock High School and also my dear former sister-in-law. Heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. God bless you, Susan.
