Elwin Richardson, 92

February 15, 2025

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —  Elwin West Richardson, 92 of Williamstown, MA died Saturday February 15, 2025 at his home.



He was born in Medford, MA on February 28, 1932, a son of Ello Elwin Richardson and Mildred (West) Richardson. He graduated from Medford High School with the class of 1950 and completed his studies at Norwich University where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering with the class of 1954.



Upon graduation, Elwin was commissioned as a second lieutenant with the US Army. He worked for Allis Chalmers MFG in Milwaukee, WI for one year and then served two years at the Frankford Arsenal in PA.



Following his military career, Elwin worked at the former Brightwater Paper Company and its successors in Adams, MA for 37 years until his retirement in 1994.



Survivors include his wife, Gwen (Golec) Richardson, whom he married on August 29, 1964 and one daughter, Bonnie Lee (James) Lafave of Genoa, NV and one son, Cary Elwin Richardson of Gardnerville, NV. He also leaves two grandchildren, Brandon Lafave and Lena Richardson; one sister, Beverly Clough of Freedom, NH and nieces and nephews.



FUNERAL NOTICE: A Graveside Service for Elwin Richardson will be held on Thursday February 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel at Eastlawn cemetery in Williamstown, MA.
