Kim Steele, 70

February 22, 2025

Kim Ann Steele, of Williamstown, MA, died unexpectedly at her home on February 22, 2025, her 70th birthday. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Eileen Steele, also of Williamstown.

Kim was a woman of many talents. She was well known for her sparkling sense of humor, leaving friends laughing until speechless as she told her stories.

She was brought up in Williamstown, in view of beautiful Mount Greylock. Much of her life, however, was spent living on the North Shore of Massachusetts. She loved the ocean and even had a job as a lobsterwoman, which also provided another trove of stories to tell.

Kim worked as an LPN in hospitals, nursing homes and home care. She especially loved working with the elderly and showed a special insight to their needs. One of her gifts was a wonderful singing voice, and she would often bring her guitar to her patients, encouraging them to sing the old songs with her. This was a favorite with patients and staff alike.

Kim always liked learning and trying new things. She worked in sales, selling life insurance and later “electrostatic precipitators.” She could launch into enthusiastic sales pitches and was a natural. Later Kim took classes and became a Real Estate Broker in Danvers, MA. She did love this and was successful. Nursing was never far from her though and she always worked private cases as well. She did childcare, too, caring for and loving “her” twins, Sophia and Olivia. They kept in touch even when the girls were grown.

After retirement, Kim moved back to Williamstown to be near family. She kept in touch with friends on the east coast and will be greatly missed. Kim is survived by her brother, Rob Steele and his wife, Jennifer, niece Evelyn Haddad, and nephews, Tom Steele and Jeremy Latson. Also, Aunts and Uncle Stewart and Suzanne Steele and Janet Hall. She was predeceased by her parents, her older sister, Lynn, and her niece, Tessah. Kim also leaves her beloved kitty, Luna, whom she called her “soul sister.”

Services for Kim will be combined with services for her beloved niece, Tessah, at Second Congregational Church, 81 Hancock Road, Williamstown, MA at 10:00 AM on March 15, 2025. Interment will follow at the family plot at Southlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com

Recollections & Sympathy For the Family
Post Comment
Dear Rob, I remember you as a youngster when I spent so much time at your house with Kim. She meant the world to me as my best friend throughout high school and beyond. My heart goes out to you as you have lost both sisters at too young an age. I hope they are in each other's arms now.

Dear Rob and Jennifer, I am weeping after hearing such sad news, and as I write this short note. Just weeks ago, I heard about Lynn and Ed's daughter Tessah and now Kim. I am so sorry for your loss and am sending my sincere sympathy and prayers to you and your family and loved ones. Kim always had a bubbly and fun personality, and I was always very fond of her. I have many fond memories of our families and us as children growing up on Hancock Rd.
