Eleanor Dawn “Chubby” (Beverly) McLain Hunt, 97 of Williamstown, MA. died Friday July 11, 2025 at Williamstown Commons.
She was born in Williamstown on March 16, 1928 a daughter of George Beverly and Laura (Godfrey) Beverly. Eleanor attended school in Williamstown, including Williamstown High School. She was employed for many years for the Williams Inn starting in 1952. Prior to that she worked at Williams College. Eleanor’s first husband, Truman McLain died in 1984, and her second husband, Charles T. Hunt Jr. died in 2002. Eleanor was a life member of the White Oaks Congregational Church and loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved playing the piano and organ.
Eleanor leaves her daughter, Gail Bolza (Jeff) of Williamstown and two sons Thomas McLain( Patricia) & Joseph McLain as well as grandchildren, Shannon Ingham, Joshua McLain (Amy) , Sarah McLain (Jamie Archambault) and great grandchildren, Jacqueline Schneider (Matthew Dellaghelfa), Brittany Schneider, Posie, James and Benjamin McLain, great-great grandson Caleb. She was predeceased by a son Bruce McLain who died in infancy and two sisters Frances Brookman and Carolyn Weld
FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services for Eleanor Hunt will be on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. A reception will follow at the Williams Inn.
