Lawrence "Larry" Murphy, 84

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —  Lawrence (Larry) Michael Murphy, 84 a longtime resident of Williamstown died peacefully surrounded by family, on October 4, 2025 at his daughter’s home, in Dayville, Connecticut.



Lawrence was born in Foxborough, MA on September 16, 1941 a son of the late Lawrence Edward and Doris (Hicks) Murphy. Lawrence was employed at Richardsons in Mansfield, MA, for many years, Harco Orchards Poultry farm, Norton MA, and PortaBrace in Bennington, VT.



Larry worked hard his entire life. He took pride in that. He enjoyed raising his children, spending time with family and friends, and sitting on his front porch with his wife Diane who died on April 1, 2025. Lawrence leaves his daughters, Michelle Murphy, Robin Nelson, Brenda Little (John) and son Michael Murphy (Ellen).He also leaves his brother Douglas Murphy (Laura) of Mansfield, and brother in law, Raymond Hartman (Kathy Martin) of Williamstown, and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 sons, Robert Hurley in 2005, Jason A. Murphy in 2014, and daughter Karen Belanger in 2019.



FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Lawrence Murphy will be Friday October 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow at a later date in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA. Calling Hours at the funeral home are Friday from 11:00 AM. To 1:00 PM. Our condolences to the family. Larry was a grandfather figure for my grandson Emil. He lived Diane and Larry. I have been blessed with their friendship and we will never forget Larry and Diane.

We are sorry to hear about Larry's passing. Such a kind,interesting and gentle man. This past summer as passing by his and Diane's house,missed seeing them sitting on their porch, and waving to to them. Sending our love and sincere sympathy to all of his family.
