Rita Langlois, 101

December 08, 2025

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —  Rita Corine (Champagne) Langlois, 101, of Williamstown, MA, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, December 8, 2025. She was born in North Adams, MA, to Corine (Filiault) and Henry Champagne on June 29, 1924.

She attended local schools and was employed at Sprague Electric. Rita married the love of her life, Arthur Desire Langlois, on May 25, 1946, at Notre Dame Church in North Adams. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. A communicant of Saints Patrick & Raphael Parish, she was a proud, devoted, and faithful Catholic.

Rita’s life was a quiet testament to the power of love expressed through simple, generous acts. She moved through the world with a tenderness that seemed to flow naturally from her heart, offering warmth to anyone who needed comfort and giving of herself with a grace that asked for nothing in return. Her days were woven with small, gentle mercies; meals prepared with care, hands extended in support, and a presence that could calm even the heaviest worry.

She found her greatest joy in nurturing the people she loved. To her grandchildren, she was a soft place to land; to her family, a steady light that never dimmed. And in her walks beside Arthur, arm-in-arm with the love of her life, she found a simple, enduring happiness. In these quiet moments, Rita revealed the depth of her compassion, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to warm the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Rita will be deeply missed by her daughter, Susan Langlois of Williamstown; her son, Mark Langlois (Shari) of North Adams; daughter-in-law, Jean Langlois of Williamstown; grandchildren, Cayla Cahoon (Greg Frank) of Albany, NY, Justin Cahoon (Kimberly Brexler) of La Quinta, CA, Mitchell Langlois (Amanda Grant) of Pittsfield, and Alexx Soha (Zachary) of North Adams; step granddaughters Terry Burdick and Wendy Miller, sisters, Theresa Roberts, Claire LeSage, and Eileen Hall; and brother, Armand Champagne.

Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur; daughter, Lucille Cahoon; son, Paul Langlois; sisters, Loretta Smith, Celia Johnson, Doris Forgette, Lena Copeland, and Beatrice Bachard; and brothers, Winifred Champagne, Lionel Champagne, and George Champagne.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Rita Corine Langlois will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Saints Patrick & Raphael Church, 63 Southworth Street, Williamstown, MA. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Williamstown Food Pantry, c/o Sts. Patrick & Raphael Parish, 54 Southworth Street, Williamstown, MA 01267. To add to the book of memories, please visit flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.
