Bertl Fleischer Just, 83, of Sweetwood Continuing Care Community died yesterday morning at Sweet Brook Health Care Center.
Born in Vienna, Austria, on March 6, 1919, daughter of Benzion and Taube Noiman Fleischer, she attended schools there. She came to the United States in 1938 and settled in the Washington, D.C., area. She moved to Williamstown in 1996.
Mrs. Just was employed as an elementary school librarian in Kensington, Md. She also was employed by the Maryland State Election Commission for several years.
She and her husband, Heinz Just, were married April 7, 1940, in Washington, D.C..
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Peter Just of Williamstown; a sister, Rose Sheintal of Sarasota, Fla., and a grandson.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 at the Williams College Jewish Center in Williamstown, with Rabbi Howard Cohen of Congregation Beth El in Bennington, Vt., officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund at Congregation Beth El through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
