Geraldine Ritter, 88

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —  Geraldine Edna (Manthorne) Ritter, 88, of Williamstown, MA, died on Saturday, February 7, 2026. She was born in Newport, NH on August 22, 1937, a daughter of the late Winona Edna (Prescott) Manthorne. Geraldine attended location schools in New Hampshire and graduated from Newport High School. She married Clifford C. Ritter on October 19, 1957 and together, they raised their four children.



She was employed for many years in Facilities at Williams College and most recently enjoyed engaging with customers at the coffee kiosk at the Clark Art. A committed mother, Geraldine’s life was focused on her family, and she loved nurturing her children. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Red Sox. Her sports devotion was only rivaled by her passion for animals.



Geraldine leaves behind her son, Michael Ritter of Williamstown; daughter, Carol Ritter of Springfield, MA; grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Galusha, Jayson Whitney, Eric (Amber) Whitney; in-laws, Patti (Steve) Travis and Horace (Angie) Wells, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford C. Ritter; daughters, Karen Whitney and Joanne Ritter; and son–in-law, Larry Whitney. Geraldine is also survived by her beloved animals; Jack, her dog and Isabella, her cat.



Calling hours for Geraldine Ritter will take place Monday February 16, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, MA. Burial in Eastlawn Cemetery will be held in the spring. Donations in Geraldine’s memory may be made to Berkshire Humane Society, No Paws Left Behind or the charity of donor’s choice directly or through Flynn & Dagnoli. I've known Mrs. Ritter since I was a kid.We were all part of the same neighborhood. She had a lovely smile and would always wave to us from her porch.Condolences to her children and the rest of her family. Rest in Peace.

Carol and Mike so sorry for your loss Ma Ritter as I have called her for years is a deep loss for anyone that had the joy or knowing her and loving her. Always looked forward to going out to lunch with Ma when Karen would come for a visit. Always a quick wit and funny omg.
